What is Health Anxiety?
Health anxiety, often characterised by an exaggerated fear of having a serious illness, can manifest in numerous debilitating ways. One example might be constantly checking your heart rate, convinced that every flutter or irregularity is a sign of something dire – resulting in calling emergency services or googling for answers. This hypervigilance can drain your energy, disrupt your sleep, and lead to feelings of helplessness. The impact of health anxiety can ripple through your life, making it challenging to maintain relationships or perform well at work.
Many individuals with health anxiety report feeling unsafe in their own bodies. This disconnection creates a sense of constant tension, as you may feel as though your body is an enemy rather than a safe haven. The fear that something is wrong can become all-consuming, leading to a state of heightened alertness where every twinge or ache feels like a sign of something sinister.
The Limitations of Traditional Therapies
If you’ve tried traditional therapies such as talk therapy, counselling, CBT, or medication without success, you may feel frustrated and hopeless. Transformative Results with Alternative Approaches
In my practice, I utilise powerful therapies and tools such as Havening, NLP, hypnotherapy and EMDR which are perfect for freeing people from health anxiety. My approach in utilising these methods has helped many clients overcome their health anxiety and reclaim their lives.
Cardiac Anxiety: One of my clients I worked with online from my clinic in Bedfordshire had crippling cardiac anxiety, experiencing frequent panic attacks and living in constant fear of heart problems. After working together, they reported feeling free from the fear that dominated their life.
Severe Allergies: A man plagued by severe allergies experienced daily panic attacks, convinced he was having an anaphylactic reaction at every turn. After our work together, he found the confidence to manage his allergies without the constant fear that had previously consumed him.
CPTSD and Panic Attacks: Another client, who had a long history of Complex PTSD and suffered multiple panic attacks daily, was convinced she was dying during each episode. She had had psychotherapy, counselling and CBT and had been told she could never fully recover from this trauma – would have to learn to live with it. However – this is not the case though – as in our work together, from my Bedfordshire clinic, I was able to help her become free from the past trauma, free from anxiety and her panic attacks completely disappeared
Health Anxiety about Breast Cancer: One young woman developed severe health anxiety following the death of her mother from breast cancer. She spent hours checking for breast lumps and rushing to the doctors. A cough became something terminal. Bodily symptoms were overwhelming. Panic attacks frequent. I identified the trigger for this as trauma which I worked with her to release. Through our sessions, she was able to shift her perspective, break free from the trauma which then stopped the hypervigilance and anxiety, and enjoy life without the constant fear of her health.

My sessions with Adele were a god send. I was going through some extremely tough times due to watching my mother pass away, dealing with my own cancer diagnosis and losing my grandmother. The emotions that were brought to the forefront of my life made dealing with things very difficult.
